Hello There little birdie

to get the kiwi kiss leaves I inked the leaves with the ink pad, not the whole stamp, just the leaves and some of the branch.  Then I used the chocolate chip marker right over the little bit of kiwi ink that was on the tree branch.  Easy!

I always forget how fun challenges are.  This was the Wednesday card sketch challenge on Splitcoast yesterday.  I NEVER would have made these with out it.  

Anyone not loving the Delicate dots paper?  Guess what? I was not either, I think its too soft, too light, or just not quite right....until now that is.  Take a look at these color combos.  Cute!  I stepped away from the stripes for a bit and look what happened!

the rectangle scallop is 2 SU square scallops (kraft) layered, then matted with chocolate chip card stock.  I hand drew the outline with a ruler.  

The sentiment is form a retired stamp set- Like it a latte.  One of my all time favs!  the Coffee cup is from the current level 3 hostess set called "hand drawn bundle"

Pig Tails and flowers

Quick post today...lots to do...Love the flower brads!  these flowers are lightly outlined with ink from the lid of the stamp pad and a water brush.  Card measures 6-1/4 x 3-1/2

Kraft and white Roses

I just love this card.  its so cool in person!!! and i am having a really fun time with this stamp set.  WOW some really beautiful creations can be made!!

I black embossed the rose.  Then I colored it with white kraft ink and a blender pen.  I wiped the excess off with a tissue and this was the result.

This is the Valet Ribbon Originals.  Its really pretty striped velvet.  I took a spot in all my product shares that I did last month so I could get a sample of everything.  My favorites are the embellishments.  Especially the Button, brads and clips.  I have some really cute projects coming this week.  I will be doing 1 more button and brad share-Mostly because I want another set!!!   Email me if you are interested in getting on the list.  I am only taking 6.  for Details see this POST.

Do you Hoard paper?

I do, well I try not to anyway.  these 2 cards are DSP heavy.  

I took three 6x6 matching designer paper sheets from the retired Muirfield to make these 2 cards.  I trimmed some down to 4 x 5.5 to fit the top note and then used the 2" strip as a layer and scraps as the faux ribbon.  I just added a little bit of matching card stock.  Its helpful if you have 1 bold pattern and 2 slightly less so you can stamp right on the designer paper.

For Baby Zoe

I made this gift for a co-worker.  She had a Baby in December!  

The gift bag is made from 2 sheets of Bella Rose DSP.  I then decorated it.  You should be able to see how to make the bag from the PDF HERE.  The Top Note panel has white embossed chip board and the Handles of the bag are the wide Pink Pirouette ribbon.   

The Mini picture frames are from the Target $Spot. (3 for $2.50) Decorated with Cheep Talk and SAB paper.  I just LOVE THIS!!!  SOOOOO CUTE .

I hand stamped the Onesies, with SU craft ink and a variety of stamps (some are not SU).  After I stamped it, I heat set it with my embossing gun for a few seconds.  Before I gave the gift I ironed the images as well.

My son Carson turned 9 earlier this month.  This was the card I made for him.  Its funny I have to make the card the night before my kids birthdays.  They always start snooping in my stamp room and asking-- did you make my card yet?  HA!

A big Thanks to Ewe

Water colored with crayons on plain whisper white.  I added a outline shadow so the white of the sheep would pop.  This is the Scallop Die (scallop circle #2)  I punched the circle with the 1-3/4" circle punch.  

ETA:  the outline shadow is done with the water brush and a sahara sand watercolor crayon.

A Valentine treat

I made this Nugget Tin for my Son's tutor.  I love her dearly and she has done so many amazing things for my son.  Needless to say she loved it!

Scallop Bag Tutorial

I have to admit I tried to do this as a video-- but I could not get past the sticky strip!  So I took pictures instead.  I do have a video in the works though.  I need to learn how to edit them so you can't see the mistakes!

Some of you wonderful ladies have emailed me about the Bag with scallop that was part of my Valentines class.  Here is a "how to" on the assembly of this cute bag.  We made this one at one of my recent workshops too.  The only "precaution" is the very faint score lines.

This is the delicate dots sale-a-bration paper.  These are the pieces that are from the scallop bag die for the Big shot.  I wanted the blue on the outside of the bag and the green on the inside so you will see how I flip the paper when putting the bag together.  Can you see the score lines?  I folded them- they are very faint when coming through the big shot.

Add some sticky strip to the short tabs

Attach them to the center panel as shown
Add sticky strip to the long tabs:

Adhere the box panels together:

Pinch the top of the bag:

Fold the scallop lid over top, still pinching:

Punch 2 large holes with your crop-a-dile:

Tie with ribbon. The celery panel is 2" x 3" and the white is just slightly smaller

Decorate the front as shown:

Finish the bag by attaching the panel to the front.

This bag hold 5 Hershey Nuggets or 8 Hershey kisses.  CUTE!!!!

Creative Packaging

This is how I packaged my recent paper share.   A cute tag using some SAB supplies so the girls could see them 1st hand.

There were 2 versions.  One with Celery ribbon and the one with saffron.  I changed up the flower to match.  Both are shown.

I decided it would be good to show you how to quickly transform the tag into a card:

Armed and Dangerous!

This time of year, and at Halloween, we are a serious Treat Factory!  Well, I try to delegate as much as possible when my kids want hand stamped projects......  Here is my son armed with my ATG gun and his Valentines!  I was not feeling well Tuesday so he had to assemble most.  He even cut with the nestabilities and my Big Shot.

He designed these. He rooted through all my stamps and picked this Papertreyink owl, even though I tried to get him to use only Stampin Up!  I wanted him to use the skull from Just Jawing but he was not having it.  He loved the Pacific Point blue and Pumpkin Pie colors, No ribbons, & just the simple punched heart. and only the words- Happy Valentines Day.  Very Specific!

He even helped me color them with copic markers.  I love it!!!!!

Pun fun note set

Technique: water coloring.  I made this box and note card set for my hostess last weekend.  I die cut the scallop card with my bigshot.  The bashful blue circles are cut with my coluzzle and then I punched watercolor paper with the 1-3/4" circle punch.

Last minute Valentines treat class

Here is my last minute Valentines Treat class.  I held this class yesterday here at my home.  I had so much fun seeing the ladies & stamping!  such fun!  A big hug goes out to Shauna- who came to stamp all the way from TEXAS!!!!!  wow!

There were 6 projects in the class.  I used riding hood red, pink pirouette, close to cocoa and Candy lane designer paper

1.  Scallop Treat bag.  The bag with scallop is made from a XL Bigz die.  See page 195.  We had some issues with seeing the score lines (they were faint) but the box was super cute!  It was punched with the crop-a-dile and tied with matching ribbon.  the tag is a new SU sizzlet set called lot of Tags

2.  Candy Slider box.  This holds 6 Reese's peanut butter hearts or 8 Hershey's nuggets.  We made this slider box at Leadership to hold tags.  I converted it into a candy box.  

The Base:   3 x 6-1/2.  Score at 1/2 inch in on all 4 sides.  snip score mark to form box.  I lined the box with DSP and stapled ribbon to the edge to create the handle.

Cover/slider:  5-1/2 x 6-1/2.  Score at 1-1/2, 2, 4-1/4 and 4-3/4.  wrap around box base, decorate

3.  Cone shaped treat holder.  this is made from the largest scallop die.

4.  Ghirardelli chocolate holder.  This is the Petal Die for the Big shot.  The chocolate is inside.  YUM!!!

5.  Heart Shaped Box.  this is also made from the Petal card die for the big shot.

6.  Peek-a-boo treat holder.  I made a bunch of these for my club girls and some hostesses as well.  They were very popular!  base is 3.5 x 9.5"  I then punched the edges with the new eyelet border punch.  the score line are at 2.75 and 3" in from each side.

This is the new owl Chipboard.  I covered him in retired prints paper and colored his feet, eyes and heart with SU markers.

Changing it up #3

Here was card from Regionals in Orlando.  the Technique is water coloring.  

Here is how I changed it up, with the supplies provided and what was available on the table.

This set is new for the new Occasions mini coming in a about a month or so.... I think.  Sorry I don't know the name.....but its GREAT for water coloring.  I outlined the whole image with a little bit if chocolate chip ink,  really watered down, using the water brush.  Can you see the dimension it gives?
