Monkey Business

this card is made with the scallop #4 bigshot die. I stamped it in chocolate chip with a retired background set (I think) then sponged the edges. These make my bib tutorial a little dated and tedious! I punched the neck with the 1-3/8" circle punch.

Recipe:
Stamps: Sock Monkey, paisleys are from a retired background set
Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Sizzix Scallop die #4, 1-3/8", 1-1/4" and scallop circle punches, wide grosgrain ribbon, non SU button, Markers for coloring, sponge

Is it fall already???

We made this card at a workshop last weekend.  The Tree was 1st stamped in versamark.  Then I added fall colored chalks with a Q-tip.  the uglier the better.  Then I stamped over it with chocolate chip in to get the look.  I am sure there is a name for this technique, but I don't know what it is.  I am really into stamping the matching envelope- this one is kraft.

Recipe:
Stamps:  Lovely as a Tree, Heard from the Heart
Paper:  Close to cocoa, kraft, whisper white, chocolate chip
Ink: versamark, close to cocoa, chocolate chip
Accessories:  Chocolate chip taffeta ribbon, ticket corner punch

What to do when you ....

... loose your creativity??  Well, I sit down to copy a card.  Have you seen this beauty from Sharon over at no time to stamp?  Beautiful.  So I re-created it using Stampin' Up products.

This 1st card is the almost exact case.

This card was me moving things around a little since I stamped the bird down to low to have the sentiment in the same place as Sharon's card.
card measures 5.25 square.  Let me know if you like it.

Recipe:
Stamps: Always, Priceless, Best Yet (Hostess)
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Black, very vanilla
Ink: Black
Accessories:  new striped ribbon from the holiday mini, hodgepodge hardware, slot punch

Mr Twigster Christmas

A chain of events to get this card....I cased this criss cross card,  which I saw on Patty Bennett's blog who saw this on Marie's blog.  I am sure they will be popping up all over the place!  Patty is right,  I was able to make a dozen of these in under 1 hour- You NEED the pennant die and a good stash of paper that coordinates.

I cut the paper 5.5 x 5.5 and ran it through the Bigshot lined up with the small pennant.  I trimmed it slightly after cutting it with the big shot.  This way I got a Pennant and a scallop circle with each piece cut.  I glued the folded perfs to the single 1/4 sheet of real red card stock (4.25x5.5).  Those little folds created the pocket.  Mr. Twigster is adhered to a 1.5 inch circle punch (sorry, non SU) and then adhere to the scallop.  I used the other scallop folded to create the pull for the inside piece.  I used the water brush and a little baja blue ink from the lid of the pad to make sky behind Mr. Twigsters head.

Recipe:
Stamps:  Mr. Twigster, Heard from the heart
Paper: Ski slope DSP, real red, baja blue, white
Ink: real red, black, baja blue
Accessories:  SU pennant die for the big shot, 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 inch circle punches, slot punch and real red ribbon, water brush, markers for coloring

What do you think?????

I survived Hannah & the Party

We got about 4 inches of rain this past Saturday from the last little bit of Hannah.  It was in the forecast all week- for my daughter's birthday and pool party.  Needless to say I had to switch party gears from a simple outside pool & ice cream party to and indoor party with decorations and activities for 11 girls!  I have been totally stressed out!

This is what I have been doing for the last 4 days:  party prep!!!

75 balloons throughout the house, plus streamers

A fabulous Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Pennant banner, exclusively designed by my daughter.

So what did they do? They stamped!

Each party attendee received a pink pony webkinz as  their party favor in a plain card stock box that was fashioned from a 12x12 piece of card stock with colors selected by my daughter..  They punched a tag and a large wide oval from various pieces of scrap paper(selected by my daughter).  they stamped with tagger's dozen on the tag, adhered them together and made a pony ribbon collar.  They wrote their name on the back so we knew who's pony was who's and then tied it around the pony's neck (in a bow) with a large piece of ribbon.(also selected by my daughter)

they then decorated the box with stickers.  you can see a little bit of them here in the picture

They played pin the cherries (Tart & Tangy) on the ice cream sundae.  See the above picture of the hand drawn ice cream & dish. Sooooo last minute I was coloring as fast as I could !!!!

they made BLING bead bracelets and made ice cream sundaes with lots of toppings! They played Freeze dance and opened presents too!  It was a great day!

Recipe:  a birthday girl, a party and lots of paper crafting supplies.

Sweet Bundle of Joy

At a recent workshop, my hostess requested some scrap pages instead of cards.  So I made about 5 designs so I could pick from a few choices for the projects.  This was one of the designs, but not one of the projects.  These little 6x6 pages can be addicting.  This was cased from Beate.

Recipe:
Stamps: Punches Three, short & sweet
Paper:  Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, whisper white
Ink:  Pretty in Pink
Accessories:  Wide oval, word window, 3 flower, scallop, circle, and small oval punches.  silver brads, regal rose wide ribbon
