Holiday Tent Topper

These tent topper style cards are very addicting! this one is made with last year's retired holiday mini set, Jolly Holiday. Card stock is bashful blue, wild wasabi, whisper white and watercolor paper. Santa is stamped in black stazon and colored with the water brush and watercolor crayons to match. The designer paper is from the Winter Bright simply scrappin' kit.

I created the scallop border with the corner rounder and I used the Marvy Mega and Giga circle scallop punches for Santa. Doodles are done with the white gel pen. The Merry Christmas label is punched from the designer label punch and the stamp is from the level 1 hostess set. I added a circle behind it with some piercing. This is a very easy layout to work with.

Basic Grey 3x3 notes and card box

Directions for this box can be found on Laurie's blog: Just Give Me Stamps. I love, love, love her work. Click here to view the tutorial on making these cutie boxes!

I made mine in Basic Grey, Charbon designer paper, and very vanilla. I sent these as a gift a few months back to a secret sibling from splitcoast. She loved them! She will find out who I am next week.
In addition to the paper, I used the scallop punch, circle punches, corner rounder for the scallop edge on the box, and the ticket corner punch. I used retired silver cording (I have tons of it), a rhinestone brad on the box and silver brads on the 3x3's. The stamp sets are Absolutely Fabulous and Think Happy Thoughts, stamped in the matching basic grey ink.

Wishing You Cheer & Holiday Special Deals

I hope everyone had a happy and blessed Thanksgiving Day!

This is the 2nd card I used for inspiration for my customers that purchased the Wishing You Cheer set when it was on sale a few weeks ago. The card is 6x3 in size. The base is soft sky and its layered with blue bayou and the designer paper included in the Merry and Bright simply scrappin' kit. I created the window with the 1 3/8 inch square punch. It lined up perfectly and was easily centered on this strip of paper. I added per piercing to the layers for a little added detail. The snowman is colored with markers and blender pens to match and highlighted with dazzling diamonds glitter for the snow. The 2 pieces of matching stitched ribbon (wasabi and soft sky) are tied in a punch out from the slot punch.

Sparkly Snow for the Holidays

I was inspired to make this card after seeing this one by Cindy Haffner. I cased it (copied and selectively edited) to make it my own. My card is made on brocade blue which was an exact match to the DCWV winter stack from a few years ago. The Marvy oval scallop punches were uses on the snowman. He has Dazzling Diamonds on his sides and just a little on his face. I layered with some whisper white cardstock and I used markers to color the snowman. The white gel pen made the doodles on the scallops and the ticket corner punch makes the notched edges. The sliver trimmed blue and white ribbon is from Michael's. I bought it last year on clearance for $1.00. The sentiment from this set is stamped on the inside in white craft ink.

Holiday gift cards

Just playing with scraps....and the All in the Family and family accessories sets. Purchase this set in the month of November and Stampin' Up! will donate all proceeds to the Dave Abbott family fund. EMAIL ME for more details! I thought these would make cute gift cards for the holidays for my daughter to give to her teachers. (with a hand stamped gift of course). Or maybe even to some of her very best girlfriends from class.
I used real red as the base, dashing designer paper scraps and some river rock and whisper white card stock. I colored these cute girls with markers and with blender pen for the river rock colored dress. tooo cute!!!!

The filmstrip

You should order this set! Its adorable, supports a good cause and is so much fun ! Email me for a special offer if you are interested!
This is for my parents…inside it says Happy Thanksgiving. Each shot is supposed to be an image of my kids. Every time I use this set they say- Mom is stamping the “geeks” again! Not quite the fall colors- and My daughter looks a little older than 5- But How fun is this??? Watch my blog this week for some more cute cards and ideas using this set.

Mellow Moss is the card base stamped with the sanded background stamp in black. Spiral punch and 1 3/8 inch square punch make the filmstrip. Bashful blue layers. Markers are used for the coloring and all holidays for the Hugs and kisses sentiment. and a scrap of taffeta ribbon to match.

Wishing You Cheer

A few weeks back the "Wishing You Cheer" set was on sale. Here is one of the cards I made as inspiration for my customers who purchased this set. Everyone who purchased the set from me got 2 cards, all pre-cut and ready to stamp.
This card uses bashful blue and chocolate chip card stock. The snowman is stamped in Chocolate chip on shimmer white card stock- super sparkly! then I colored the snowman and added dazzling diamonds to the whole body of the snowman. ( I over did the eyes a bit-- so I had to touch them up). The tree and the snow also have dazzling diamonds on them. The Very Merry is from warm words, and is also stamped in chocolate chip. I used both oval punches to create the tag and tucked the edge up under the knot so it appears connected. In the corners are silver brads and I used taffeta ribbon in chocolate chip and bashful blue. ( and the ticket corner punch!) Very sparkly in real life!

Merry & Bright Again!

This is a little box that holds 3x3 gift cards and Envelopes. I am really having some fun making some boxes and cards as gift sets. This set is made with the Merry & Bright Stamp set as well the Wintergreen designer series paper. The matching card stock colors are sage shadow, always artichoke and whisper white. I have a series of punches--- scallop, 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 inch circle, word window and the small and large tag punches. The box design and specs came from FlaxyChick's blog HERE. I changed it up slightly but nothing major! Enjoy!

Dashing 3x3 Gift Card Holder

So I have been busy, busy, busy preparing for my card buffet this weekend. Thank you to all my friends that are coming this weekend to stamp and thank you to my friends who purchased the class through the mail.

So while I was preparing the money holders for all the ladies who rsvp'd by the deadline, I manage to both cut and score 16 of them incorrectly. yes 16 wasted pieces of paper- SU expensive old olive card stock!!!! Because, like any good papercrafter, I can not throw any scrap away-even mess ups I found a good use for them.
This Pouch can hold 4 3x3 note cards and envelopes. Here is how it happened....
The specs for the Original Money holder : 8x7, scored at 2 1/2 and 6 when the 8" side is at the top of the scoring tool.

For some reason I thought they were different: The specs for this one: 9x7, scored at 2 1/2" and 7" when the 9" side is at the top of the scoring tool.
These make cute gifts! Not a bad save!
The scrap from the trimming of the good money holders you get a 3" strip that can trimmed for a 3x3 note card. I used those Olive scraps and then created red 3x3's to match the dashing paper. I used my round tab punch to punch a circle window. I then layered the punched pieces plus a scallop and circle punches and the Merry & Bright stamp set. Tutorial can be found here for the tab punch circle technique. All I can say is practice, its not that easy to line up that 2nd punch which then turns into more wasted paper!

Isn't She Lovely?

I love the binder clips converted into photo holders! what a fabulous way to use scraps!

This one is made with SU's Fall Flowers designer paper and the all Holidays stamp set. The matching card stock is rust and Sahara sand. I used various circle punches to create the layers on the scallop punch. Next time I will add some paper piercing to the Sahara sand circle. Taffeta ribbon in gray and white. The gray is not a perfect match, Kraft may match better but that is currently on the UPS truck scheduled to arrive today with my box.

See this post for the Stampin' Up Paper party Promotion. Email if you are interested in placing and order. Look for a few more of these!

Christmas Wishes

I hate to admit it-- I have had this Papertrey "Believe" set for quite sometime and finally it saw some ink last night! The colors on this card are wild wasabi and real red. The patterned paper is from the Winter Bright Simply Scrappin' kit. The ink is basic black and wild wasabi. I colored the wreath in with a blender pen and ink from the lid of the wild wasabi ink pad. Santa's coat and the berries are colored with a real red marker. I added some liquid applique to Santa's coat to give it a fur trimmed look. This adds an amazing 3-d effect (double click the picture for a larger view). Santa's face is colored with a blush blossom marker and his cheeks are made rosy by using a pink marker. A few gold brads and some stitched ribbon complete the card.
