I just love Penny Black's puppy stamps! I will definitely be adding more to my collection....After I spend all my money in the new SU catalog! Its great! I love soooo many new SU stamps and accessories- so many fun items to create. Stay tuned for some new stuff! (Like other stamp addicts, I have been drooling over and sleeping with my catalog)

This cute card was made for my crop swap. I attend a monthly crop with some of my "stamping sisters" and each month we swap cards. I love these girls dearly. We create, eat, shop and have a ball together. and the Bonus is they are great friends, more like sisters to me and they are all addicted to stamping and paper as I am.

This month's submission is created with SU pumpkin, taken with teal and very vanilla card stock. Water color crayons to color the image. I re-stamped the puppy image on white card stock (because I wanted that Dalmatian to be white and black, not vanilla) and cut the puppy out, colored his cheeks pink and adhered him with the xyron "X" machine to make him a little sticker. The patterned paper is from a stack...I have seen this plaid everywhere! The sentiment is CTMH and is layered with various circle punches. The ribbon is SU grosgrain in taken with teal to match. And don't forget the cuttlebug embossing folder- Dots and Dashes! This is one of my favorite cards. (until tomorrow. LOL)

Easy, Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!

That's what my kid's say when something they have to do is really easy! This cards has nothing to do with lemons, and everything to do with easy. I was going for a masculine card- I think I missed the boat as a result of the scallops, but I still like it anyway.

Pattern paper is from a stack at Joann's. I bought it because I thought I could make masculine cards with it. The blues and rich burgundy colors were great. This is the one and only card made from this paper - still have a huge wad to go through. I love lots of paper and one day I'll need more of this and reach for it- Right? oh well... anyway...Sahara sand matches it perfectly!

Sentiment is from Papertrey.com. I traced the colluzzled and punched circles and the strip with a black roller ball pen. Easy, Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!

Love...Laugh...Dream

Finally, I have used my Palette of Prints. This is Bellerina-- made for a SCS Bella swap I am participating in. I used last week's Sketch challenge on SCS to create her. See the link at the left if you like the Bellas and want to purchase a few of them!

I used the Pallette of prints (rose red), Bashful blue, rose red, white and black card stock. The corner rounder (guard removed) to create the scallops and the coluzzle to cut the circles. The rose red scallop layer is a coluzzle circle that was punched with the corner rounder. The Circle layers run off the edge of the card on purpose! (to hide the imperfect line up of the punched scallops) Bellerina is colored with matching SU watercolor crayons. and the sentiment is created from Everyday flexible phrases. Plus a little paper piercing around the scallops.

Get Well Soon Bella

I made this for Jen H. , she's the host of our 69 image Bella swap! She was not feeling well, so I made this adorable Bella to brighten her day!

Feelabella, DCWV glitter stack, certainly celery, barely banana and whisper white CS. Corner rounder (guard removed), scallop punch, ticket corner punch, various markers, celery ribbon and CTMH for the sentiment.

Pick a Petal

Although I have several new cards to post, I decided I should break in my new SU stamps from my pre-order and put them to good use. Plus I may end up with a few good convention swaps!

These 2 definitely have potential-- so if you are going to session 2, look for me and potentially these 2 card fronts!

Here Kitty Kitty!

I am the 1st to admit that I am not a cat lover. Nope, definitely into dogs over here at our house (and apparently turtles too!) But, I did fall in love with some adorable Hero Arts kitties. They were a boxed set of 4 from my local supply store. Here is my 1st creation with these cuties! SU Cranberry crisp card stock and stitched ribbon, creamy caramel and white card stock. This little kitty is colored with SU watercolor crayons and the cuttlebug embossing folder, spots and dots.

Check out my new watermark!!! Can you see it on my card image? Can you believe there are people out there that post images of other peoples cards and claim them as their own art? In my opinion, that's just not right! After reading many posts about photo theft and images being posted dishonestly all over blogs, I went ahead and bought a watermark for my images. It was super easy. I picked a design, gave my details and in just about a day, I had 2 watermarks emailed me for my pictures! I have one with a doodle flower and one with a coffee cup (I just love coffee!). To get a watermark of your own, visit Dina's Digi Diner Blog. Dina is great to work with! Make sure you have a photo program that allows you to insert watermarks onto your photos.

Party on Girlfriends

I made this Cosmobella with some really fun paper picked up at my local supply store (LSS) a few weeks back! My favorite toy this week is my SU corner rounder with the guard removed. its quick, easy and makes some great scallops!

Cosmobella is on whisper white card stock, stamped in basic black ink. Her shirt & flip flops are colored to match the card stock in certainly celery. Her pants are colored a pale blue, using water color crayons and the water brush to match the designer paper from K & Co. Her skin is blush blossom marker-- my favorite for all skin tones! She drinks a purple martini (also to match the paper). And what you can't see (unless you click and super size the picture) is her silver belt- done with the SU double sided silver and gold painty pen. Sentiment is Everyday Flexible Phrases and the paper flowers are from CTMH. That's a jumbo brad that I bought at Joann's.

Thinking of you and Smiling

Yes, that's exactly what I do when I see this card, I smile. That puppy is so stinkin' cute don't you think? This was another attempt to use my backround sampler and the puppy is a Penny Black stamp. If you look closely, I stamped the polka dot backround in a straight row then stamped off the edges. It gave the strip a little more texture. The sentiment is embossed in white on SU chocolate chip card stock. Bashful blue and celery are the other colors. Three pieces of hemp are tied around the card and there are three smaller pieces tied in knots. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Happy Stamping!

Cosmobella

The very big Thunder storm is fast approaching-- so I have to be quick! Products include everyday flexible phrases, Chatterbox doublesided cardstock/paper and Cosmobella. Plain, cheap LSS ribbon and the square scallop punches layered to create a rectangle. I learned this from Gina K's blog at "A day in the Life". (see link to the left) SU corner rounder (guard removed) to create the scallop along the bottom edge... and finally Water color crayons, the water brush and Old Olive card stock. I love to color the bellas outfits to match the designer paper.

Artfully Asian

This card is potentially for a Stampin Up convention swap. What do you think? Do you think it is swap worthy? I have never been to convention so I have no idea what to expect, except FUN!!!

This card uses all Stampin Up products. (one of the rules of convention swaps) The Artfully Asian stamp set is so elegant and easy to use. The main image is stamped with versamark and then heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. The little flowers are colored in with a cameo coral marker then dabbed with the white gel pen, just to soften it a little. The back round is also stamped with versamark to create the watermark look using the same main image. Again, I colored the little flowers white with the gel pen. Those are not real brads in the corners-- its the zig 2-way silver and gold paint pen available for purchase in the accessories part of the current catalog. That is Certainly Celery paper and ribbon, plus a little extra white ribbon. and don't forget the ticket corner punch- one of my favorites! The photo does nothing for the card, it is bright and beautiful in real life.

Get Well Soon!

Everyone needs to have at least one get well card on hand. I did not, so I took a few of my previously stamped bella images and made this card. I do not own Getwellabella, but my good friend does. Many thanks for letting me borrow her! This layout was from this week's sketch challenge on SCS. I am late...but there really is no time frame! She goes well with the blue and tan and inside the card I am thinking a sentiment along the lines of "feeling blue?" to go with the color scheme.

Well, this week I focused on using up some scraps. Designer paper scraps, card stock scraps and ribbon scraps. I also completed half finished cards. Those are the ones I start, get half way done, and then hit a creative block. Sometimes they sit for months! The Bella card on an earlier post is one of them and so it this one. My good friend gave me a roll of this blue square CTMH ribbon and I find it next to impossible to work with! Definitely not one of my favorites- but I love the cuttlebug and the designer label punch box! just not loving this ribbon. Anyway....Someone out there will love it, Right?

Simple and sweet

Have you seen as many cards with this layout and these punches as I have? So there is nothing new here, but this layout has extreme versatility. Many images fit into those beautiful oval scallop punches! These were super simple to whip up and will most likely put these in an altered tin to give as a gift. (if I don't send them out 1st!!)

She likes to bake...

I do believe I am on a birthday card kick. Well I guess you can always have an extra lying around! Same color combos as yesterday, but with Cakeabella. There is stickles on the cake candle for a touch of sparkle. For her dress, my very first attempt at paper piecing- which by the way is sooo cool. The polka dot paper is part of the SEI Granny's kitchen collection so it matches perfectly. Ran it through my xyron and voila-- a sticker outfit. Birthday Cupcake

I found his birthday cake stamp set (Wordsworth clear stamps) at my LSS over the weekend. I loved it because it was in a box ( for easy coloring and layers) and had an area for icing. The first thought that came to mind was to use liquid applique on the cake for icing. The back round paper and bottom strip is SEI Granny's kitchen. I love the blues and browns. Look for a few more of these color combos this week and more liquid applique. I love that stuff!

Bella's Yummy Cake

I have had this card base on my scrap table for at least 2 weeks. Love this paper, love that the glitter is already there... I just could not find the right stamps & layout that showcased the paper. So here she is! Cakeabella. (available at the link to the left, stampingbella.com) I used DCWV glitter stack, SU apricot appeal and some pink card stock that matched from the drawer full of scraps. Paper flowers are CTMH; tab on the left is made with the SU word window punch; various markers for coloring and don't forget the brads. CAN YOU SEE THE ICING? (if not, double click the image and it will be huge) It's white liquid applique heated with the embossing gun! Stickles are on the candle-- what a nice 3-D effect. This card is so cute in real life and was so fun to make!

Happy Father's Day

This is a card I made for Father's Day. There are many golfers in my family so I am not sure who will be the recipient. The golf bag is colored with cranberry crisp ink and the water brush. The label is popped up on dimensionals. Enjoy!

So sweet Puppy

Somewhere along during my many hours of SCS gallery browsing I fell in love with Penny Black stamps. Specifically the dogs. They are adorable. I made this for a Penny Black swap I am on SCS in but instead, I think I may use it for my "crop swap" card. I think my best crafty girls, the ones I crop with once a month, should get one of these! It is a spoiler for them but I just love this card and wanted to share! You know its good when my husband say- "Wow! that's a good one" Who knows... I may come up with another new one by crop time!

I used SU chocolate chip, whisper white, and creamy caramel card stock. The blue was in my scrap pile. It is DCWV retro stack for the patterned paper and SU ribbon. The cuttle bug embossing folder is Traffic Jam. Bow-wow stamp is CTMH. The dog is colored with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I hope you like it!

IGGY, our Turtle

For those of you that know me, know we recently went through "reptile decision day" To make a long story short, my son wanted an exotic reptile as a pet-- we got a turtle. The decision day was his birthday and Iggy arrived a few days later. This card was for the "thank you" notes for all of his birthday gifts and money. Can you believe that in all my stamps this is the only turtle I have? Its from Close to my Heart's (CTMH) Lazy Days set. The card stock is also CTMH (topiary). I am not sure who makes the patterned paper and the postage stamp is from a cuttlebug die cut. The card is 6x3 and fits into the smaller business size envelopes. Simple enough for a 9yr old Turtle owner. He liked them!

Today was the 1st day for my daughter in her new room at school. Our "trade off" for the "goodbye window" (mentioned in another post) and no tears, was to decorate a mailbox and have her open a special note from me every morning. So yesterday I dusted off the mail box from Target (from Valentine's Day) and decorated it with some cheap paper in my stash. Not that she doesn't deserve Basic Grey, Heidi Swap or Chatterbox-- but this mailbox is on its way to destruction. She's 4 and its in a classroom full of grabby little hands that want to see an touch everything. Not to mention I hoard paper by the pound. She ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT ! Mostly because it was pink. I now have a stash of 3x3 note cards ready to go for her every morning (all made from scraps)!! She hugs and sleeps with "piggy" so this was appropriate for the 1st day. Yup, she still cried... :(

Card Camp Doodle Flower

This Doodle flower was a last minute design for my Spring card camp last night. I have used this Doodle set 1 time! (yup, just once) Many love it, I am not so sure. So, I felt if my friends came over and made a card with it, they could help justify the stamp set purchase! The backround sampler is another set that does not see ink too much either. Since the backrounds are not retiring, I will be trying to use them more as well.

Stamp sets used are Doodle this, warm words, and the Backround sampler. Certainly celery and black ink and rose red. Celery, bashful blue and whisper white cards stock. Can you see the glitter all over the flower? I used the zig pen and glitter. The flower was colored with the water brush and the rose red ink. WOW- it looks really sparkly in real life! all the ladies wore a hefty dose of glitter home last night... it was everywhere!
