For My Princess

I made this card for my 4 yr old daughter. She will be missing the "goodbye window" at school when I drop her off. She is moving up to the "Superstars" room next week. She cried this morning so I made this card up today and had it waiting for here when she got home. Needless to say-- She loved it!

I used 2 SCS challenges to make this card. This weeks "sketch challenge " (super fun, and easy) and the "ways to use it" (use a retiring set) were the inspiration for this card- and of course my daughter, the princess, was the most inspiration! I used Junkitz patterned paper, tempting turquoise card stock for the base, cool caribbean and pink passion for layering, various markers for coloring, and the Pretty Princess stamp set. I'll be sad to see it go- its perfect for little girls.

For My Bella Swap

This is a card I made for my fabulous crafting friend's SCS Bells swap! Sorry Kim-- it's a spoiler! Anyway, I tried a new color combo for this one, purple and turquoise and boy it was out of my normal colors for sure! it was hard! Bella stamps are available at Stampingbella.com. My favorite part about this card is the dog! most of this paper I found in my stash but I love the SU (Stampin' Up) ticket corner punch, bouquet flower punch and oval punches! they add "just a little bit." And there is a little dollar store bling on the flower. Walkabella is colored with Prismacolor pencils and orderless mineral spirits. The flowers on her dress were colored with the sakura stardust pen, another favorite accessory of mine!
And the bella panel is popped up on dimensionals. The picture is dark and the card is so bright and cheery in real life-- looks like I need to improve my photography!

Thank You Gift sets

I made these adorable gift sets for my friends. One is a co-worker and he and his wife are expecting their 1st baby, so I felt they needed some Baby Thank you notes. They do not know what they are having. My other girlfriend is expecting a girl. I got this super cute idea for this card from SCS: view the original HERE

There are 6 note cards in each box, each has a different baby on it. I borrowed this "Baby Firsts" set from my friend Elisabeth. Too bad it is retiring in June- I always reach(I mean borrow) for this set. The edges of the envelopes are stamped with the baby's face in matching pink or green. The clear boxes make them such nice gifts. They are from clearbags.com. I hope the recipients like them as much as I do!

Green Thumb swap card

This is a card I made for a Green Thumb swap on SCS. Green Thumb is a recent stamp set from Papertreyink.com . I used SU Sahara sand, cameo coral and rose red card stock. I do not have a Cameo coral ink pad so I made do with a blend of blush blossom mixed with a "stamped off" rose red. In real life its a really good match. I hand drew the stems with a certainly celery marker. The patterned paper is from a DCWV stack from my stash and the *Bling* on the few larger flowers-- can you believe is from the dollar store and are peel and stick. I really like them. The design for this card is a combo of many cards on SCS. Enjoy!

Well, I did it!

I jumped on the blogging bandwagon created this blog. I hope you enjoy the cards I create and find lots of inspiration. I have been thinking about this for some time as I browse many, many fabulous blogs. I will be adding links as I go to all my favorites! (blogs that is) I am hoping this site will be an outlet for my creativity and be able to share all the fun and exciting things I love about stamping! Please feel free to leave a post and tell me what you think! I am excited to hear from you.
